After the Trains

Today I finally got time to bike along former Skreiabanen Railroad from Lena to Bøverbru. I tried to go all the way to Reinsvoll, but at Bøverbru the tracks were completely gone, where I ended up at Holetjernet Lake, a beautiful lake I didn't knew about. It was nice bicycling here, very good roadway even for kids. My health was excellent today, I think I held the same speed as the trains that once went here. My father's uncle lived at Bøverbru where he run a hardware, so he used to go with train from Kraby Station to Bøverbru Station visiting him as a kid.

Going home I had a break at Håjenbrua Bridge crossing the Lenaelva River. It's not a part of the railroad though.

An old image from the railroad trial between Lena and Skreia. Last winter they dug up the roadway here for new sewer/water-pipelines, so for the moment it's not so nice biking here. Really hope they will not pave it, as this will remove the old charm seen in this image.
